Some riders who are just starting out riding motocross get nervous about riding on the same track as more experienced riders. They fear that the might get landed on or tangled up with another rider.
The best advice I can give riders who are just starting out is to focus on what you are doing. Don’t worry too much about the other riders as they will most likely see you ahead of them before you think you need to get out of the way.
The most important things to remember are listed below.
1. Don’t not ride on the pro tracks if there are beginner or intermediate tracks available or wait for a session designated to your skill level.
2. Stick to your lines. Do not move to the side or cross the track abruptly.
2. Exit and enter the track at designated points and wait until the track is clear before entering.
3. Don’t keep looking behind. Focus on what is ahead of you.
4. Roll jumps that you are not experienced with and ensure you stay out of the main line.
5. Keep a constant pace.
Starting out in motocross can be a tough ordeal for most people. These tips will help you stay cool and calm and hopefully out of trouble on the motocross track.
Best of luck!
